• A highly skilled people manager using adaptability of approach and coaching and mentoring skills to convert complex and difficult performance management situations into success stories.
• Superb strategic and organisational skills, used to provide a clear sense of direction for the team and individuals.
• Held budgetary responsibility for operations up to values of $500k including personal responsibility for the performance and operation of a complete business unit.
• Successfully managed complex projects and programmes using excellent planning and organising skills to ensure that timescales and cost targets are met.
• An excellent networker, who creates excellent working relationships across organisational boundaries, then utilises them to achieve goals for the organisation as a whole.
• Highly developed interpersonal skills which have ensured that colleagues, subordinates and clients actively seek counselling, mediation and support.

Key Achievements
• Resolved a situation in a school where exclusions had risen above national average, and were continuing to rise. Created and implemented new referral processes, which ensured that developing or potential behavioural problems were attended to before escalating to become potential exclusions. Set up peer support and mentoring systems within the pupil population providing children with opportunities to take higher level of personal responsibility for supporting others. Since this programme began last September exclusions have declined considerably at the school.
• Took over as Director of a failing Summer Camp in the USA. Attendance and financial targets were not being met, and the unit was $30k in debt. Staff morale was at a very low level and conduct standards were not being met, particularly with reference to child protection and the provision of educational content. Immediately established required standards of conduct and performance for staff. Set a clear example by own behaviour and managed performance to ensure standards were met. Undertook a re-launch and remarketing of the unit, particularly emphasising the enhanced educational aspects of the camp. As a result of this activity, by the end of the first season the unit had achieved 70% of capacity. By the start of the second season the unit was fully booked.
