Examining each of the errors or groups of errors identified in error logs or reconciliation exercises and trace the cause of the error. The results of the examination will then lead to recommendations about how to resolve the issue.

Development of project management strategy, team, tools and workflows (including PID, Governance, budget and outline “high-level” project plan) for Barclays’ first truly global, cross business-unit, project. The project objective is to deliver, to all relevant desktop machines globally, a unified and standardised procurement tool – in this case provided by Procuri – which will be developed in line with the Barclays’ “Sourcing Handbook”. The role included management of key stakeholders (from COO downwards), recruitment of a first class project team and the creation of PMO functions. In the development of key documents (PID etc.) much work was given to the definition of deliverables and statement of requirements which were, at the outset, quite vague. In addition, I undertook much of the initial 3rd party management – dealing directly with senior and project staff from the software vendor to establish ongoing working relationships. Project management for creation of new budgeting and finance frameworks - to include multiple change management projects and development of systems to compliment functions. Creation and delivery of bid budgets for the PFI/JV bids being considered and the operational budgets for those already underway.

Project Management for the implementation and integration of VT Group PLC financials systems and associated reporting tools. Team leadership on a Matrix basis. Additional project work created to develop standardised system usage and to enable cross-fertilisation of staff. Development of UAT packs and full version control matrices. This included development of basic user interfaces using XML and UML programming – my role being one of oversight rather than programming. Planning and implementation of Navision v3.70. Development planning for bespoke systems for managing ‘cashless’ systems in schools. Development of reporting tools for finance department in order to ensure compliance with requirements of JV contract. Development of time-recording management systems and policies. Conception and delivery of training plans. Regular reporting to sponsor, board, stakeholders and VT Group PLC. Working directly to the Finance & Commercial Director and managing a team of varying sizes and competencies.

VT Four S is a joint venture created in April 2004 by VT Group PLC and Surrey County Council, for the delivery of consultancy services to schools and local authorities. VT Group uses the Microsoft Navision (v3.70) financials and CRM system. Part of the development of the JV required that VT Group systems were implemented, carefully and with full reference to the business needs, across the new company. Project management for “fire-fighting” in regard to the implementation of the systems required.
