Independent Marketing Consultant - Associate Director
Consultancy services for The Marketing Guild .
The work performed in my role within the Guild involves carrying out a marketing performance consultation examining the current routes to market and analysing the results of those efforts and agreeing with the client a marketing strategy to produce sustained growth from new business generation. The marketing principles employed ensure that the clients efforts counter the five steps making up the consumer decision making process – Recognition of need- Information search –Evaluation of alternatives-Purchase decision – Post purchase remorse.
Many clients have obtained considerable benefits in terms of lead generation from turning web sites from information sites into enquiry generating mechanisms through the use of client advisory reports to entice prospects and thus building up additional database of prospects. I have created strategies for thirty five members of the Guild during this period across a wide sector of business and industry . The strategies utilised have been particularly successful within the Legal and Financial service sector where I am fully conversant with the need to work within the constraints of the regulatory bodies governing these sectors. Clients in this sector include McGrath Civil Litigation Partnership, Richards & co Solicitors, Solomon Lloyd Ltd , BNB Tax Consultants , and Montague Capital Ltd.
In addition to the Consultancy work carried out for the Marketing Guild I have also acted as an independent Marketing Consultant with a more hands on role than the support benefits provided by the Guild . In this capacity I have again carried out marketing performance consultations but taken full responsibility for the implementation of an agreed strategy including the production of effective Direct mail , Web site text , Corporate brochures and leaflets , e-mail campaigns and tele marketing scripts. Recent clients include Bell Lax Solicitors based in Sutton Coldfield where marketing had previously had little priority but they recognised the need to attract new clients . As specialists within the personal injury field we agreed a strategy designed to exploit their specialist skills while at the same time encouraging a more client friendly perception of dealing with a law firm . I have also completed a recent assignment for RT Law Solicitors based in Birmingham where in addition to drawing up the text for revised marketing brochures in order to counter the consumer decision making process we also undertook a project to increase the number of leads generated from the current web site by a combination of site optimisation and adding enquiry generating mechanisms.
(1991 to 2003)
Marketing Services within the Clothing and Textile Industry.
With a background in the industry I was involved with generating sales for two UK based companies on a long term relationship .( Dawson Fabrics ltd –Huddersfield and Loyal & Sons ltd – Leicester )
My role within Dawson Fabrics was centred on developing and maintaining an export business utilising my contacts within France and Belgium and my ability to converse directly with clients . I built up a business in excess of £2million annual turnover in these markets and maintained the client relationship.
My role within Loyal & Sons was more UK focused and involved identifying suitable markets for their products , approaching prospects , generating sales and maintaining client relationships.
In very difficult trading conditions in an industry that has declined steadily during recent times I believe my contribution to these companies can be best illustrated by the fact that both companies exist today .
