I have been a freelance science writer and reporter for medical journals such as The Lancet, The Lancet Oncology, Drug Discovery Today and other journals in the Elsevier group for over 10 years now. I have also worked for European publications such as the ELSO Gazette and on research and promotional publications for the EUREKA secretariat in Brussels. I currently also write for Frontiers, the journal of the Ecological Society of America.
I combine writing with scientific editing for major educational publishers in the UK - primarily Hodder Science and Collins Education. I am co-author of A level text books on biology and human biology and have also written books for younger children. A highly illustrated book that I developed and wrote with the David Salariya Book Company was runner up in the Times Education Supplement Non-Fiction prize for the 7-12 age group in 2000.
