A Business-to-Business agency. Responsible for managing all print and press production, the creative teams and studio.
· Introduced new job progress and quality control systems and keen pricing structure – which became part of the pitch document and helped win their biggest client.
· Responsible for production of a monthly international web-offset trade newspaper, which was edited in the UK, produced under my supervision in Eindhoven.
· Technical initiatives by me enabled the introduction of digital proofing and as a result made savings in time and expense and, as a result, won further projects.

A Saatchi & Saatchi Group agency, Hall Advertising*. Leading consumer ad agency.
· I personally handled £1m worth of print production.
· Handled all national and regional campaigns for Kwik Fit and other national and local clients. Worked on several presentations involving all agency resources.
· When agency closed in 1994 set up as Print Consultant in Edinburgh, working locally for Grey Advertising and other clients handling special projects before moving to Cambridge.
(*I also previously worked at Hall Advertising from 1981 to 1985)

Omnicom Group, London – Production Director – 1987 to 1993
Set up and ran a new production department at Davidson Pearce to specifically handle all Marks & Spencer business.
· Produced many campaigns using my own workflow systems, and introduced new technology that increased our performance and profitability.
· Negotiated 50% volume supplier discounts.
· Promoted to board director of main agency. With increased staff and responsibility to help further improve agency profitability.
Following merger with BMP DDB continued to manage all Production teams. Increased cross-referral business with one group subsidiary turning them into a profitable business. Moved to Rapp & Collins Direct Marketing agency 1990 where continued to project manage for 3 years on international direct-mail material. Also in 1993 was freelance Production Manager at Leagas Delaney. I introduced new technology and successfully rescued a potential problem for the agency using digital retouching on an ad for Harrods.


QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND TRAINING

Educated Glasgow Academy to O level grade. Have completed advertising industry educational courses, attended seminars and major trade shows in the areas of print, production, digital and new media technology. I also took part in the IPA Continuous Professional Development scheme at my last employers.

PERSONAL

Interests: During autumn of 2006 set up and managed a Hospice Charity bookshop. Very recently volunteered on to action committee fighting threatened closure of local Nature Reserve and Country Park. Sailing. Bit of golf.
