For the past 4 years I have been working as a Publicity and Marketing Officer, within local government and for a charitable organisation, including some work as a Broadcast Journalist in Community Radio. Previously I volunteered, trained and worked as a Broadcast Journalist in local radio for 4 years; in the commercial sector, for the BBC and initially in Hospital Radio.

My key skills include: excellent communication in both written and audio form; knowledge of a range of publicity and marketing strategies: strong writing skills for a variety of purposes such as articles, newsletters, reports, bids, presentations and brochures; experience in maintaining websites and intranet pages and highly developed proofreading skills (I am undertaking an accredited proofreading distance learning course in order to ensure my skills are current).

I have some knowledge of a wide range of subjects as well as developed knowledge in:
Local Government, particularly Social Services, including Children and Young People’s Services,
Environment, particularly Transportation, Employment Services including the Modernisation of Day Services and Supported Employment
The voluntary sector including Community Radio, Riding for the Disabled and Supported Employment
Transport including the Public Transport system, Travel Planning, Neighbourhood Travel Team and Sustainable Transport including Cycling and Car Sharing
Supporting Social Inclusion
Producing Accessible information including audio and visual work
