Inspirational Leadership Development
Specialising in Leadership development, designed, developed and delivered public sector executive leadership development programmes, including identifying potential, recruitment, assessment centre design and application, selection and progress monitoring through tailored coaching interventions for senior public and private sector clients. This included the creation and patenting of a unique Coaching Wheel©. Bespoke, holistic solutions created by identifying the individual and organisational end game requirements; defining clear measurable outputs; an accountable time framework; agreeing intervention methodology and periodicity and the application of key specialist interventions such as using MBTI Step I and II, FIRO B, 16PF and other psychometric tools. All activities are captured within an iterative Value Chain, maintained Action Plan and Portfolio of Achievement. Customer evaluations are exceptional and respective business results demonstrate clear, tangible and directly related business improvements and significant personal success.
Organisational Development
Led the first ever public sector management consultancy unit to become accredited as a Certified Practice with the Institute of Management Consultancy (IMC) in 2003 and by 2005 a 300% improvement in the numbers of consultants achieving individual Certified Management Consultant (CMC). This being the Office for Government Commerce (OGC) desired standard for Consultants engaged to work across government and public sector bodies. Developed the vision and business strategy for securing accreditation; liaised extensively with the Institute to establish a qualifications route-way; integrated IMC competencies within individual’s performance plans and project evaluations; costed and funded the associated learning and development requirements; reviewed progress against IiP standards, PDLP’s budget proposals and anticipated business demand. Accreditation led to improved departmental credibility, enhanced reputation, set clear, objective professional standards, provided a code of ethics and a demonstrable benchmark to compare against external providers and competitors thus resulting with more consultancy being delivered internally and with significant DWP cost savings.

Strategy Developer

Delivered a Ministerial commissioned integrated counter-benefit fraud strategy for London, commissioned to reduce loss of monies by fraud to the public purse. Conducted complex negotiations, influencing and persuasion with a vertical slice of stakeholders from the 33 autonomous London Boroughs, Jobcentre Plus and Department for Work and Pensions. Developed a cohesive high level strategy, conducted value chain analysis to establish strategic fit. Conducted quality and quantity based research by interviews and integrated workshops to baseline the risks and impact; identified critical issues for attention and secured positive partnership buy-in. Refined the strategy, factoring in operational and legal issues; established a range of pathfinder partnership initiatives. First year analysis indicates significant benefit savings in recovered monies and improved effectiveness due to economies of scale and restructuring.

Results Orientated
Achieved year on year improvements in terms of quality, cost recovery and sustainable added value from a nationally dispersed hard charging government management consultancy group. Directed the effective deployment, budget allocation and cost recovery. Secured savings in excess of £6 million for the tax payer. Set strategic aims; cascaded to individuals by communicating accountabilities and responsibilities through an integrated business planning process. Commissioned a Skills Audit and established an electronic library to ensure customer requirements were accurately matched. Defined measures for evaluation to assess business interventions. Ensured integration from proposal stage to product delivery by reviewing each proposal and quality assuring all completed commissions. Personally conducting all customer evaluations and feeding back the findings to individuals. Marketed summary level conclusions across the Group and wider stakeholder community.
