Since 1998, as Director of McNeill Consulting, I have provided IT expertise to a number of clients in the UK and international drinks industry. Initially employed on a 6-month assignment, I’ve forged a reputation for quality work on the basis of my achievements over the past 8 years, including:
* Full life-cycle development of numerous ASP.NET Web applications utilising C#, VB, & ADO.NET
* Systems analysis & enhancement of back office systems using SQL programming skills
* Key project team member supporting two large-scale ERP implementations (Epicor & SAP R/3)
* Supply Chain key user during SAP ‘global template’ creation and Benelux SAP R/3 roll-out

Employed in the role of IT consultant attached to the newly created Maxxium UK - Jim Beam Shared Back Office (SBO). Responsibilities and achievements include:

* Web Development

- Full life-cycle development of multi-tier ASP.NET web applications in Visual Studio.NET using C#.NET, VB.NET, and ADO.NET, connecting to SQL Server 2000 databases. Previous experience of Windows Forms development using PowerBuilder 6.0 (see below).
- Excellent knowledge of SQL Server 2000 including T-SQL, stored procedure creation, database design, indexes/trigger creation, plus Query Analyser, Profiler, Enterprise Manager, and DTS.
- Several applications currently in use via company Intranet including New Product Development, Point of Sale Forecasting, Point of Sale Ordering, and Management Team KPI Reporting.

* Epicor Support & Reporting

- Performed trouble-shooting and system enhancements on SQL-based Epicor system prior to the SAP go-live including report creation using DTS, Info Desktop, and Crystal Reports.
- Employed SQL skills to ensure minimal system disruption during the busiest trading periods.

* SAP Implementation & Support

- Supporting 30+ users in post-SAP implementation phase, embedding and refining new processes and providing trouble-shooting assistance particularly in the supply chain & EDI area.
- Helped to deliver an on-time SAP implementation in the UK market, with key responsibility for EDI interface re-development and testing, plus business-critical data conversion tasks.

SAP Supply Chain Key User

Amsterdam

Employed in the role of Supply Chain key-user, using IT & supply chain expertise to help develop a SAP ‘global template’ system to be used as the basis for worldwide SAP roll-outs. Responsibilities included:

* Process mapping – Developed ‘best practice’ global supply chain processes and worked in conjunction with SAP consultants to implement these on the SAP R/3 system.
* Reporting - helped to investigate & identify key reports forming the basic Worldwide KPI reporting.
* Testing – Prepared and executed unit test scenarios relating to the key supply chain processes. Performed integration testing in conjunction with other teams to validate the global template.
* Training – Developed training material, including building on-line help, covering the key processes.

Subsequently helped to deliver the first successful SAP roll-out in Holland and Belgium with responsibility for EDI, interface development, unit and integration testing, and face-to-face user training.

Maxxium UK Ltd, Stirling

Provided IT and supply chain expertise during and after the implementation of the Epicor ERP system, which replaced a number of existing logistics and finance systems. Responsibilities included:
* Customisation – Used PowerBuilder 6.0 to modify processing and appearance of Epicor Windows Forms, and performed extensive SQL stored procedure programming on the server-side.
* Development – responsible for enhancements to existing functionality using a combination of PowerBuilder, SQL stored procedures, DTS, and other appropriate tools.
* Reporting – created new reports within Epicor eIntelligence reporting tool using a combination of SQL and Crystal Reports.
* Data migration – Provided mapping and supply of appropriate static and historical data from existing sales and finance systems.
* EDI – Redeveloped existing EDI interfaces from AS400 to PC environment using a combination of Desktop EDI software, eBridge mapping tool, SQL stored procedures, DTS, and Crystal Reports.
* Process mapping – Employed business analysis skills and knowledge of the Maxxium supply chain to perform process mapping, specify requirements, and develop procedures for use in Epicor.

IT Consultant

Highland Distillers, Perth

* Employed to develop LANSA data extract routines from various AS400 based systems (SOP, GL, Sales Analysis), for the purpose of supplying a PC-based profitability-modelling database.
* Given responsibility for major enhancements to existing SOP/EDI systems to support new supply chain requirements arising from creation of the Maxxium joint venture.
* Managed one other temporary resource to ensure successful delivery of project milestones.

* Worked with a variety of clients in the Dutch insurance market using a version of Insure/90, an online real-time solution for general insurance companies.
* Time spent mostly on-site, trouble-shooting implementing system enhancements using RPG/400.
* Solely responsible for Year 2000 compliance tool used in both Dutch and UK conversions.
* Recognised with an Employee of the Year award for this project.
