WEB/PROMOTIONAL MATERIAL (INCLUDING):
Designed the layout, compiled and wrote all copy for the new IAT web pages including:
 Designed front page of website
 Liaised with all 40 staff within institute and wrote copy for staff web profiles.
 Produced photographs and created a ‘student successes’ page.
 Received congratulations from IAT staff at the renewed interest in the website due to its more attractive design and better organisation.
Conceived, designed and wrote copy for all promotional material including poster and flyer and brochure advertising IAT to industry:
 Liaised with all IAT commercial and academic staff to confirm content.
 Obtained quotes and worked closely with internal and external designers including ICON Graphic Design on production.
 Saw that 2000 of the flyers offering services to industry were distributed through a database I had created of businesses throughout Wales, resulting in significant interest from companies including the letting of an IAT laboratory to Small Planet Technology Ltd.
 Ensured 1500 of the academic flyers were produced and distributed to UK and foreign universities, at open days and to overseas agents resulting in over 60 applications to Masters Courses from students who were initially attracted by the dynamic design and copy of material produced.
EVENTS (INCLUDING):
Organised a large-scale showcase at the Institution of Engineering and Technology, London which took place on 4 May 2006:
 Worked within a very short time frame to fit in with the availability of Andrew Davies, AM, who was guest speaker/coordinated partner representatives across the UK within that time frame in the composition of a video to be shown at the event.
 Organised set design and all AV requirements by liaising closely with London based companies Live Productions and Antidote Audiovisual.
 Wrote a speech on the history of telecommunications for the host, Judith Hann to open with which was quoted in The Western Mail newspaper who ran a large piece on the event.
 Ensured substantial print/web coverage through media contacts in The Western Mail, South Wales Evening Post and specialist publications including The EE Times and The Engineer Online.
 Ensured that the event acted as a successful networking opportunity for those present including representatives from Ericsson, Motorola, IBM and University of Cambridge.
 Received congratulations from the Vice Chancellor of Swansea University for arranging such a successful event.
PR (INCLUDING):
 Successfully liaised with The Western Mail newspaper and secured page 3 article on IAT’s HIPNet Project in March 2006.
 Created PR and events strategy for IAT seminars and IAT short courses including targeting specific business sectors in Wales to attend seminars/courses and contacting media to gain coverage. Was congratulated by line manager/academic staff and research staff in compilation of strategy to be implemented in September 07.

PUBLICATIONS/PR (INCLUDING):
Obtained profiles for the new Swansea University prospectus:
 Assigned a photographer and approached students at the Swansea Graduation ceremonies 2005. Obtained a dozen quotes and photographs of students across a range of disciplines and nationalities. The students featured in the 2006 undergraduate university prospectus. I was congratulated on the gathering together of a number of international students for the photographs and this strategy proved valuable in targeting students from overseas.
Created the copy for a ‘clearing brochure’ which would be used to attract students just before enrolment for 2005 entry to the university.
 Liaised with the individual university departments from American Studies to Zoology and compiled interesting and informative text for the brochure. The dissemination of the brochures to students resulted in an intake of 340 students in 2005, an increase on the previous year’s intake.
