CV
Working as a writer and editor since 1989, when I started out as a newsletter columnist, I have undertaken a wide range of projects for employers in the UK, US and Canada. I took four years out between 1991 and 1995 to do a Master's degree in English at the University of Glasgow. Following this, my partner's illness meant that I was busy as a carer and my professional work was sporadic, but I continued to pursue opportunities wherever possible. Between 2001 and 2004 I managed a fashion design company and was responsible for all aspects of its communications with the public and other businesses. I wrote a bestselling course on business writing and spent some years tutoring in relation to it. I have been writing film reviews since 1991 and last year I became content director at Eye For Film. In this capacity I commission work, negotiate with PRs and other industry workers, edit reviews and features and organise film festival coverage. I also take on contract work writing and editing articles for private clients.
