After a lifetime of service at director levels in the Royal Air Force, the Ministry of Defence, the Foreign Office, various government agencies and the National Health Service, xxxxx is now a management consultant, management and legal trainer, mentor and coach and a specialist in Alternative Dispute Resolution. Throughout all such disciplines and roles he adds further value by the use of high-level psychometric analysis and tools, including that of the world-renowned social scientist, Professor Robert Cialdini on ‘Influence’, the work of Ken Buist and Chris Smith on ‘Trust’ and Meredith Belbin and Alan & Barbara Pease on Paleoanthropology and the evolution of ‘gender’ differences, as well as the profiling tools of ‘emotional maturity’ et al for which Xxxxx is a fully accredited licensee of Transform People International.

Xxxxx continues to hold several OCPA-governed public offices and is, for example, chair of an internal complaints panel for one government agency, chair of an official committee for the Secretary of State for Defence and vice-chair of a standards committee for a council, for which he is also a member of the quasi-judicial panel hearing complaints against councillors. Xxxxx spent 4-years as chair of an independent complaints panel for the NHS and is retained by several commercial businesses for legal and business advice, mentoring and dispute prevention and resolution, while he also chairs the professional conduct panels of 3 professional associations.

Xxxxx has over 30-years of experience in management and legal training, from practitioner through to director and owner of all training in general executive competencies for the RAF. Xxxxx is also increasingly in demand as a trainer, lecturer, management coach and speaker in both the UK and overseas, and has taken a lead role in developing and providing training in standards and ethics matters for and in Local Authorities across the South West.

As a management consultant, Xxxxx recently completed a very major project for the Local Government Association where he conceived, designed and led his team through 21-months of demanding work to create and implement a new governing body for land and property searches. This body – the Council for the National Land (& Property) Information Service Community Interest Company – brings together disparate organisations from totally different backgrounds and interests for the common good. This is a typical example of where and how Xxxxx’s considerable experience, real hands-on expertise, high level intellect, wide qualifications and sheer energy combine to add true value. This is Xxxxx’s third major strategic change project, the others involving transforming the Defence Evaluation & Research Agency into Qinetiq and the MoD-owned Defence Scientific & Technical Laboratories, and the creation of the tri-Service Defence Academy and Command & Staff College. All 3 are knowledge-based, high intellect and creative ‘businesses’.

As a trainer, Xxxxx has just completed a project to develop a management-training e-learning programme for the Learning & Skills Council, based upon a very popular television programme and well-known business personality. He took over as subject matter expert for this project at the last minute because the client considered that the previous expert, a university professor of business studies, had a far too academic approach and rejected his contributions. Having been a chief executive of an £100M turnover business in the public sector, a director equivalent of a £1B turnover business also in the public sector and having worked with public and commercial sector businesses as a consultant and adviser for the last 8-years, Xxxxx combines high-level academic qualifications with considerable practical expertise.

In his legal work, Xxxxx offers a full range of services for businesses, specialising in employment, company and contract law and providing all company legal documents from contracts through terms and conditions of sale to staff handbooks. His many private clients commend him for both an innovative approach and the provision of solutions rather than simple advice alone, and greatly value his ability to prevent problems as well as to resolve such.

Apart from the CPD mandated by his various professional memberships, Xxxxx’s plans for 2007 include studying a post-graduate diploma in international commercial mediation and becoming a certified management consultant – an award he achieved only last month (March 2007).
