SALES DIRECTOR
LONDONApproached by a Director of VENTURE GROUP and COLINDALE FINANCE to develop new business selling mobility products (scooters, adjustable beds, chair), to end users.
The general market in this business sector is predominantly passive, with business being driven either via the National Press or local dealer shop networks. This was an ineffective method of generating sales enquiries.
Responsible for developing a ‘Pro-active’ culture and sales environment by recruiting and training a Sales Manager and a team of 18 sales people; a Telesales Manager and Assistant Manager and a team of 20 Telesales Consultants and two teams of 20 Mobile Market Researchers.
Mobile Market Researchers were sent to various regions to research the areas and collect data, thereby creating a database that was utilized by the telesales team to generate appointments for the sales team. The sales team converted 50 per cent of the sales lead. This built a turnover in excess of £7m per annum.

Recruited and trained a direct sales force throughout the South of England, covering an area from Cornwall to Birmingham.
Assisted in increasing volume sales in core product and improving the quality of the sales team and, as a result of this, the sales conversion rate from 1:6 to 1:3. This resulted in increased sales turnover.
