Key achievements
• Achieved and exceeded target integration savings in manpower through OD, restructuring and re-organisation of the former Southnews business units into the existing Trinity Mirror business through redundancies, office closures and management rationalisation
• Harmonised terms and conditions across TMS in May 2001 and introduced new broad band pay and grading structures in all functions based on local market rates
• Created new focused HR business partner structure geared to the needs of the new businesses and introducing new HR systems /MI

• Brought in as interim Head of HR in Jan 99 post sale of former Lombard Tricity retail finance business by Nat West to Abbey National. • HR Project Manager. In Feb 2000, on appointment of permanent Head of HR, undertook a project role to plan and implement Transformation Programme overseen by Ernst and Young. Project involved outsourcing and redundancy of some 600 inbound and outbound call-centre and support staff. Dealt with statutory consultation with recognised Trade Union on TUPE transfer and redundancies and associated HR issues including outplacement.

As a £260M turnover company with 3500 employees Powerhouse was bought by Hanson plc in November 1995. The business was restructured and sold to an MBO group in June 1996.

• TUPE transfer and successful assimilation of 2500 staff to a new joint venture company.
• Recruited and developed new HR team and function at a new HQ Greenfield site and planned and co-ordinated recruitment, induction and training of 1000 new sales and support staff and specialist HQ functions such as IT, Finance and Sales and Marketing.
• Created and implemented business focused HR policies and procedures in new Company environment including the introduction of new terms and conditions, market related bonus, grading and payment systems for field and personal contract managers and support staff.
