I was responsible for the preliminary conceptual design of HOV (High Occupancy Vehicles) lanes for the M25 Section 1 Junction 16-23.

M8 Fermoy Bypass – Traffic Signs & Road Marking Contract - €28K
I was responsible for the design and management of traffic signs & road markings contract for a 17km motorway PPP project. Key activities included client liaison, design and specification preparation.

N25/N27 Kinsale Road Interchange Design & Build Tender Design - €80M
I was involved with the tender design of 2.4km Design & Build Project involving the reconstruction of the major roundabout junction. I was responsible for safety barrier design, pavement, drainage and traffic sign design, bills of quantities preparation.

N20 Abbeyfeale/ Castleisland Design & Build Tender Design - €19M

Involved with the tender design of 7.3km Design & Build Project. My key activities included pavement design, bills of quantities preparation.

Various Junction Improvement schemes for Lidl Ireland Ltd. - €70K to €180k
I assisted in the design and management of a number of roundabout design projects for a retail sector client on local authority roads/ junction. Key activities included client liaison, horizontal/ vertical design and contract documents.

N8 Central Reserve Safety Barrier – €1.0M
I was responsible for the preparation of Design & Build contract documents for construction of 16km of median safety barrier on N8 Dunkettle to Watergrasshill and was involved in the tender appraisal stage of the project

R700 Bennettsbridge Road Realignment – €200k
I assisted in the management of projects and coordinated with other team members in the deliverable of ground investigation tender documents and drawings to a 2km road realignment scheme.

Omagh Throughpass - £6.1M
I was responsible for the design and specification of the traffic signs and road markings for 3km single carriageway road, part urban / part rural. Scheme includes one road bridge, one river bridge, grade separated junction, roundabout and substantial retaining walls.

N24 Carrick-on-Suir Bypass – €17.2M
I assisted the design engineer in the preparation of the preliminary design report for the scheme. I was responsible for the coordination of all site visits to the site by outside parties and was the point of contact for landowners and Statutory Undertakers. In Summer 2003 I became assistant resident engineer for the preliminary stage site investigation (€200,000 contract with 30 boreholes and 25km of geophysical surveys) for the scheme. I was responsible for the supervision shell and auger crews, rotary drilling crews and geophysical survey teams. My duties also included with liaising with landowners and analyzing the geophysical received from the contactor.

Mahon Point Development – Widening Works to N25 - €2.2M
I was responsible for the design and specification of all traffic signs and road markings for the scheme covering the widening of an existing N25 South Ring Road dual carriageway to a three lane road and the widen of the Mahon Interchange and Link Road from a single carriageway to a dual carriageway. Assisted the projects electrical engineer with the lighting design. I also assisted the geotechnical engineer with the preparation of the site investigation contract documents for the project.

Portarlington LUTS - €200k
I was responsible for the preparation and presentation of a feasibility study for a number of route options for inner relief road for Portarlington to ease congestion in the town centre. The desktop feasibility report included the identification of all constraints on possible route option and design of possible horizontal and vertical alignments and their impacts on the surrounding environment.

N77 Kilkenny Ring Road Extension €17.2M
I worked as a graduate Engineer for preliminary and detailed design and contract documents for a €17M scheme to extend Kilkenny ring road. Scheme included 4.5km of single carriageway with four roundabouts, five bridges (including two rail bridges) and the realignment of approximately 1km of the Dublin-Kilkenny Railway to accommodate the new road. Services provided included highway and bridge design, landscaping design, site investigation procurement and Project Supervisor Design Stage. My primary responsibilities included liaising with the relevant statutory authorities in regards to diverting existing services affected by the proposed road and incorporating these diversions into the Bill of Quantities and tender document preparation.

N80 Mountmellick Relief Road.-€3.5M
I was responsible for preparation of consultation documents and public exhibition material. I then liaised with the local authority in responding to queries of the general public following the public consultation. Assisted in the preliminary design of the project Responsible also for the preparation of the Irishtown Traffic Management Scheme.

Road Safety Auditor – Various Projects
I am a qualified road safety audit team member and have been involved in nine road safety audits of varying size and complexity.
