The right to work in the UK
Before you can start a contract with people4business Limited – through any of our sites, including «people4business», «people4charity», «people4engineering» and «people4web2» – we need to see documentation that proves you have the right to work in the UK.
people4business Limited is legally required to check this documentation to comply with the May 2004 Amendments to Section 8 of the Asylum and Immigration Act 1996.

European Economic Area
Any European Economic Area national automatically has the right to enter and work in the United Kingdom.
Austria • Belgium • Cyprus • Denmark • Finland • France • Germany • Greece • Iceland • Ireland • Italy • Liechtenstein • Luxembourg • Malta • Netherlands • Norway • Portugal • Spain • Sweden • United Kingdom.
Swiss nationals also have the right to live and work in the United Kingdom.
Workers Registration Scheme
Nationals of the following EEA countries have the right to live and work in the UK and are also required to register with the Home Office under the Workers Registration Scheme:
Czech Republic • Estonia • Hungary • Latvia • Lithuania • Poland • Slovakia • Slovenia
Nationals from Bulgaria and Romania are restricted in the type of work they can do.
We will need to see proof of your nationality (as below) and you will also need to register with the Home Office. You will need to send us a copy of your application for the Workers Registration Scheme.
You do not have to register under the Workers Registration Scheme if you are from one of the above countries and are self-employed. For more information on the Workers Registration Scheme, please «see here»
Bulgarian & Romanian nationals
If you are of Bulgarian or Romanian nationality, special rules apply to you regarding working in the UK.
You may need a registration certificate, an accession worker card or a work permit in order to do so, and the type of document required depends on your personal circumstances and the work you may be doing.
We will need to see proof of your nationality and copies of your registration certificate, accession worker card or work permit.

Before you begin a contract
Before you can begin a contract, we will need to see proof of your right to work, as outlined in the following table:

A passport showing that you are a British citizen, or have the right to live in the UK
A national passport or national identity card showing that you are an EEA national or Swiss national
A residence permit, registration certificate or document certifying permanent residence, issued by the Home Office or the UK Border Agency to an EEA or Swiss national
A permanent residence card issued by the Home Office or the UK Border Agency to the family member of an EEA or Swiss national
A Biometric Immigration Document issued by the UK Border Agency, which states that the person named in it is allowed to stay indefinitely in the UK, or has no time limit on their stay
A passport – or other travel document – with an endorsement to show that you can stay indefinitely in the UK, or have no time limit on your stay

Provide proof of of your permanent National Insurance number and name –
a National Insurance card, P45, P60 or letter from a government agency
AND ONE of the following: |

A full UK birth certificate, which names at least one parent
A birth certificate issued in the Channel Islands, Isle of Man or Ireland
A certificate of registration or naturalisation stating that you are a British Citizen
A letter from the Home Office or the UK Border Agency, indicating that you can stay in the UK indefinitely or have no time limit on your stay
An Immigration Status Document issued by the Home Office or the UK Border Agency, which indicates that you can stay indefinitely in the UK, or have no time limit on your stay
A full adoption certificate issued in the UK, which names at least one parent or an adoption certificate issued in the Channel Islands, the Isle of Man or Ireland
A certificate of registration of naturalisation as a British citizen

A passport or other travel document with an endorsement showing that you can stay in the UK and can take this work, provided that it does not require the issue of a work permit
A Biometric Immigration Document issued by the UK Border Agency, indicating that the holder can stay in the UK and is allowed to do the work in question
A work permit or other approval to take employment issued by the Home Office or the UK Border Agency, together with a passport, other travel document or letter from the Home Office or the UK Border Agency with an endorsement or confirmation showing that you can stay in the UK and can take the work in question
A certificate of application issued by the Home Office or UK Border Agency to a family member of an EEA or Swiss national stating the holder is permitted to take employment, which is less than 6 months old together with evidence of verification by the UK Border Agency Employer Checking Service
A residence card or document issued by the Home Office or the UK Border Agency to a family member of an EEA or Swiss national
An Application Registration Card issued by the Home Office or the UK Border Agency stating that the holder is permitted to take employment together with evidence of verification by the UK Border Agency Employer Checking Service
An Immigration Status Document issued by the Home Office or the UK Border Agency with an endorsement indicating that the person named can stay in the UK and take the work in question, together with a document giving your permanent NI number and name (e.g. P45, P60 or NI card)
A letter issued by the Home Office or the UK Border Agency which indicates that the person named can stay in the UK and take the work in question, together with a document giving your permanent NI number and your name (e.g. P45, P60 or NI card)
PLEASE NOTE that the documents referred to in section 3, above, must be provided to us every 12 months after the initial submission.
This requirement does not apply to documents supplied to us from sections 1 and 2, above.
